Powdered Sugar

Powdered Sugar

This post came about completely unexpectedly.  Twice this week I have made recipes that called for powdered sugar. Which I ALWAYS have on hand. But, twice this week, I did not. I’m not a huge fan of running to the store for only one thing, even though our grocery store is literally three minutes away.  I just do not want to be bothered, nor do I want to be interrupted from my masterpieces (ok, I will compromise and say ‘creations’). So I knew there would be a substitute for it, and, lo and behold, there was. Google came to my rescue once again. So, I thought as long as I am making this, why not post the recipe? Plus, it’s SUPER easy and super quick, and you will not even notice the difference from store~bought. I will probably never buy store bought again because I always have sugar and corn starch on hand and it tastes every bit as good, if not better.

The most time~consuming part of blogging about food isn’t the prep or cooking…it’s the photography…props…and all that goes into it. So the powdered sugar took five minutes to throw together. The photo shoot took…45 minutes! Seriously, it did. It takes me usually 30 pictures to hopefully get a few “money shots” during most shoots. Honestly, who takes 45 minutes to take pictures of powdered sugar?  Apparently I do. I am sooooo particular about my pictures. My eyes know exactly what they like to see and what look I am going for. Sometimes I have to settle because after an hour or more, it’s just not in the cards for me to get my all~time beloved perfect picture that I am beyond proud about. So mediocre pictures grace a few posts from ‘the thankful table’ occasionally and it is just a very sad moment for me. And, apparently, I like to talk (again, who has this much to say about powdered sugar?). So I tend to ramble on, like now. Apologies dear loved ones…whithout further ado, here is the recipe…have a great weekend!!!

Sláinte!
